Class Description: What is the purpose of obtaining a Payment and Performance Bond? Why must Retainage be withheld from the contractor? What do you do if a subcontractor or supplier files a claim against the bond and retainage? What steps must you take before you can release the retainage to the contractor? What is the impact on public agencies of Substitute House Bill 1555 approved by the Legislature this spring? We will address these and many other issues through a combination of lecture, class interaction, and small group exercises.
Class Schedule:
- 4 hour class
- Starts at 10:00 a.m.
- One hour lunch break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Class continues at 1:00 p.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m.
